Retail range launched at Trade Day
Garry traveled up to Auckland in March to attend the Nursery Trade Day with Daltons Ltd. Besgrow are launching a new retail range of Coir and Spagmoss products in conjunction with Daltons who are our New Zealand distributor. Daltons are very enthusiastic about this retail range and will be visiting many of nursery customers in the near future with the product brochure obtaining orders for the spring retail season.
Success at TIOS
Besgrow attended the Taiwan International Orchid Show for the fourth consecutive year. This year however, we incorporated a sales booth as well as our business booth. Our intention was to be able to promote Orchiata to a wider audience. We sold a number of different orchid varieties grown in Orchiata along with our new 5litre retail packs.
We are pleased to know that more and more growers are using Orchiatain Taiwan. We were also visited from many international growers who expressed how successful they have been growing with Orchiata.
Natural Wonders in San Francisco
The 59th Annual Pacific Orchid Exposition took place this year at the Fort Mason Center, sponsored by the San Francisco Orchid Society. This year’s theme was "Natural Wonders" where all attendees were plunged into a scenic wonderland where you could see over 150,000 orchid flowers from all over the world.
Besgrow attended the Pacific Orchid Exposition along with our distributors from the East and West Coast of USA, Acadian Wholesale Supply and Greenhouse Specialists. We received a lot of positive feedback about our products and were pleased to know that our products were increasing in popularity. This was the second year Besgrow had attended so it was great to receive positive feedback from many growers who had only used Orchiata for the first time last year.
Gro Pacific and Daltons visit Melbourne
I was lucky enough to go to Melbourne with Daltons and nursery men from around NZ, I have to say what a great bunch to go away with. The main purpose was to visit Garden City Plastics who will supply exclusively to Daltons pots for the New Zealand market.
During our visit to GSP it was a real eye opener to see the robotic machines producing pots at an incredible pace and still able to maintain a high quality. I must admit though during our nursery visits I got very excited when I heard how so many nurseries there are using coir in their potting mixes. Water conservation and recycling are imperative in Australia, the use of coir in there mixes gives them a huge saving in water usage.
